Collection and Storage of Personal Data (Server Log Files)
When you visit our website, information is automatically sent to the server by your browser and stored in server log files for the duration of the session. The following information is temporarily recorded:
- IP address of the requesting computer,
- Date and time of access,
- Name and URL of the retrieved file,
- Website from which the access was made (referrer URL),
- Browser used and, if applicable, the operating system.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in ensuring the technically error-free and secure operation of our website. Log file data is not combined with other data sources and is automatically deleted after 30 days at the latest, unless a security-related incident (e.g. an attempted attack) requires longer retention for evidentiary purposes.
Contact Form and Product Inquiries
If you send us inquiries via the contact form or our product inquiry page, your details (including name, address, email address, and your inquiry, including any items you selected or entered) are stored and processed by us in order to handle your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (handling a request or taking steps prior to entering into a contract) or, where no contractual relationship is being initiated, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding to inquiries). We do not pass on this data to third parties without your consent, except for the technical service provider described below. The data is deleted once it is no longer required to process your request, and at the latest upon expiry of any statutory retention periods.
To process our forms technically, we use the service Formspree, Inc. (USA). The data you enter in the form is transmitted to and processed on Formspree's servers. As Formspree is based in the USA, your data is transferred to a third country. This transfer is based on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses pursuant to Art. 46 GDPR, which Formspree applies as a data processor. Further information can be found in Formspree's privacy policy: formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy.
Google Maps
On our homepage, we embed a map from the Google Maps service to show you our location. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland ("Google"). When you access the page on which the map is embedded, a connection to Google's servers is established even before any interaction takes place, which may allow Google to learn your IP address and other technical data; a transfer to Google servers in the USA cannot be ruled out. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest lies in presenting our location in a clear and easily accessible way. Further information on how Google handles user data can be found in Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
Cookies and Local Storage
This website itself does not use cookies for analytics or advertising purposes. For certain functions (such as remembering your selected language), we exclusively use your browser's session storage. This data stays on your device only, is never transmitted to us, and is automatically deleted once you close your browser. Through the embedding of Google Maps and form processing via Formspree (see above), the respective providers may set their own cookies; we have no influence over the type, scope, or purpose of these cookies.
Data Subject Rights
You have the right:
- pursuant to Art. 15 GDPR to request information about your personal data processed by us;
- pursuant to Art. 16 GDPR to demand the immediate correction of incorrect data;
- pursuant to Art. 17 GDPR to demand the deletion of your data;
- pursuant to Art. 18 GDPR to demand the restriction of the processing of your data;
- pursuant to Art. 20 GDPR to receive the data you have provided to us in a structured, common, and machine-readable format, or to request that it be transferred to another controller;
- pursuant to Art. 21 GDPR to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR;
- pursuant to Art. 7(3) GDPR to revoke your once-given consent to us at any time;
- pursuant to Art. 77 GDPR to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. You may generally contact the authority of your habitual residence or of our registered office; the authority responsible for us is: Der Hessische Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit, Postfach 3163, 65021 Wiesbaden, Germany, www.datenschutz.hessen.de.
